What is the 123 Sing - for Joy! Workshop all about?

It’s official: singing is really good for you—mind, body and soul.

The very act of singing enhances mood, releases tension and soothes the spirit.

And yet… there are so many people who think they can’t, or shouldn’t sing.

They worry that they’re not good enough. Or think they’re tone deaf. That people might laugh or criticise them if they do sing.

Is this you? If so—this could be just the workshop you need!

In a safe and empathic environment, you’ll learn lots of tools and tips to encourage better breathing and  enhanced voice production. You’ll be able to enjoy    singing fun, joyous and uplifting songs together with a group of like-minded people with gentle guidance and encouragement from Trixi.

Take pleasure in learning a mix of rounds and songs specially chosen/designed to limber up your larynx and rejuvenate your soul!

COST

Fee for this 2-hour workshop is just £15, or £13 each if you bring a friend or three!

All profits of this workshop, after costs have been covered, will be donated to Classic FM’s charity Music Makers which funds music education and therapy projects for disadvantaged children and adults.

How do I book a place?

As places are limited, bookings will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis—so it’s advisable to secure your place early.

Simply select and click on the appropriate ticket type above (single, if it's just you, or bring-a-friend if there are two or more of you), and then follow the instructions.

Do I need to bring anything?

You don't need to be able to read music to join in, and any song words or other materials will be supplied. You are recommended to wear loose, comfortable clothing, suitable for the time of year. You should also bring:

  • A bottle of water
  • A willingness to let go - just for an afternoon - of any hang-ups or worries you may have about your singing, and just enjoy the experience!

Singer, voice workshop facilitator, pianist, author & composer, Trixi believes that in our noisy, busy,  hi-tech society we have become separated from the simple, healing  joys of singing and music-making  together—an essential part of being human. She regularly runs voice and song/sound meditation workshops in the UK and abroad.

She has an MA (music education)  and an MEd  and has  trained in Creative Music Making in the  Classroom (Orff Institute, Mozarteum, Austria,) and jazz  (Trinity College of Music, London).

Trixi has frequently observed the healing and mood-enhancing effects of singing and music-making, and, thus inspired, is now also a fully qualified Sound Healing Practitioner  and Tutor with the College of Sound     Healing. Currently based in Hertfordshire, she is also a member of the Natural Voice Practitioners’ Network.

What former Voice Confidence participants have said:

"Definitely a good choice for those who are uncertain of themselves as singers." (Pauline, London)

"In an amazingly short space of time, Trixi manages to unify the whole group. I left feeling something quite special had taken place." (Denise, Aylesbury)

"We can all sing and feel the benefits -let Trixi show you." (Kate, Tring)

"I did feel a bit nervous beforehand, but Trixi is a very supportive person as well as an excellent teacher." (Howard, Bristol)

"Come and enjoy this workshop and surprise yourself..." (Jude, Oxford)

"A haven of music and singing." (Rita, Hemel Hempstead)

"Most fun I have had for a long time. Was amazed how easily you got us to 'gel'. Lifted my mood - better than antidepressants!" (Brian, Hemel Hempstead)

"I enjoyed the workshop very much - it's the best thing I have done for a long time, and I couldn't stop singing all weekend!" (Glynnis, Hemel Hempstead)
